Will these fit my knife?
Each set is cut for one specific knife model, so the fit depends on getting the right listing. The model a set is made for is named in its product listing — check that against your knife before ordering. If you don’t see your model, message me. The list keeps growing, and I’d rather hear what people are carrying than guess.
Why does every set look different?
Because wood isn’t manufactured. Each pair is cut from a particular piece of stock, and the figure in that piece is what you get — the grain, the colour shift, the burl. Two sets in the same species won’t match. That’s the point of working in natural material rather than moulded G10.
How do I look after wood scales?
Wood in the pocket is more forgiving than people expect, but a few things help:
- Keep them out of prolonged soaking. Damp is fine; submerged is not.
- A light wipe of mineral oil or a hard wax now and then keeps the surface fed.
- Skip solvents, degreasers, and anything you’d use to clean a kitchen.
- Expect the colour to deepen with handling. Most of these woods darken over the first year, which is generally an improvement.
Do you take custom orders?
Get in touch and tell me the knife and the look you’re after. I’ll tell you what’s possible and what it would take.
